Rock and Soil Identification

Igneous Rock- 

Rocks that form directly from magma.They are classified as basaltic or granite, and as intrusive or extrusive.



Sedimentary-

Form from sediments such as mud, sands, or gravels compressed by overlying sediments.  This formation takes a long time to occur so most of these rocks are usually fossils.



Metamorphic-

The combination of the two when they are put in high pressure and high temperature.
